This report is on the amazing Volcan Pico de Orizaba. Volcan Pico de Orizaba is, as you may have guessed by the name, a volcano. It is situated between the cities of Puebla and Veracruz in Mexico. On top of the volcano is a hut that provides a beautiful view of the surrounding country. When I came across this picture on the internet I decided to choose this volcano for my project instead of a monument. The history of Volcan Pico de Orizaba was formed in three stages. It began during the mid-Pleistocene. For you science people out there, the Pleistocene epoch lasted from about one million to eleven thousand B.C. B.C. means before the birth of Jesus Christ. The volcano’s latest eruption occurred in 7530 B.C. Eruptive characteristics of a volcano are: ·Central vent eruption: debris and lava flow from a central point of the volcano, shaping the opening like a cylinder. ·Explosive eruption: magma is violently forced out of the volcano pushed by gases that built up inside the volcano. ·Pyroclastic flows: fast moving gas and rock flowing out of the volcano at more than 50 mph and at temperatures up to 1,000 degrees Celsius. Volcan Pico de Orizaba is Mexico’s highest peak and North America’s highest volcano. It is 5,636 meters or 18,491 feet high. Volcan Pico de Orizaba was formed by rock and cooled magma/lava. This volcano is not an extinct volcano but is dormant. The soil of the Orizaba Valley is very fertile. The easiest route to the top is a snow or ice climb. Volcan Pico de Orizaba looks rocky at the summit and has few trees. The lower part of Volcan Pico de Orizaba looks bountiful in vegetation, meaning there are many trees, bushes, and forest floor vegetation. This next paragraph is about the economics of Volcan Pico de Orizaba. The Orizaba Valley has warm temperatures, which makes people want to live there and also attracts many vacationers. Tourism is the number one economic source for the Volcan Pico de Orizaba region because of the things to do there. For example, people like to climb the volcano to a hut on top of the volcano because one has a beautiful view of the country from there. Tourists visiting the area stay at the local hotels and shop the town stores . Due to the fertile volcanic soil a great business would be farming and agriculture. Also, Pico de Orizaba is so popular that a brand of mountain climbing gear is named after volcano. I hope you enjoyed my essay thoroughly and received the information you needed in my report on the well-visited and beautiful Volcan Pico de Orizaba.
